Do you supply a driver with the prime mover?
No — MEA Truck Hire is a dry-hire prime mover specialist. You supply the licensed driver; we supply a fully maintained, fully insured, late-model Volvo FH ready to work.
Is insurance included in the hire rate?
Yes. Every truck in our fleet is fully insured, with mass management compliance documentation provided upfront — no hidden fees or surprise add-ons.
What's the minimum hire period?
We accommodate single-day and one-way jobs through to long-term contract hire. Tell us your timeframe and we'll tailor a rate to suit.
How quickly can I get a truck?
Same-day collection is available in most cases. We typically come back on quote requests within 15 minutes, 24 hours a day.
Where do I collect the truck from?
From either of our two yards — 45 Lawson Rd, Badgerys Creek in Sydney, or 35 Gilbertson Rd, Laverton North in Melbourne. We'll tell you which yard your unit is sitting at when we send your rate, and both are accessible 24/7. If sending a driver out doesn't suit, ask us about delivery when you enquire.
Can I take the truck interstate?
Yes. Once a unit is on hire it's yours for the term, and every truck is rated and insured for interstate and outback work. Just tell us the sort of running it'll be doing so we match the right configuration and rate the hire properly.
Who handles servicing while I've got the truck?
We do. Maintenance stays with us for the whole hire term and is carried out by our own in-house mechanics — we don't outsource it. That's the point of hiring rather than owning.
What configurations are available?
Single rated, B-Double rated, and Road Train rated Volvo FH prime movers, in 540HP, 600HP, and 700HP engine options — for both local and interstate work.
Is my trailer compatible, or do I need one from you?
Our prime movers are dry-hired without a trailer — most clients connect their own. Let us know your trailer type when you enquire and we'll confirm compatibility.
What's included in the pre-hire inspection?
Every truck gets a full pre-trip mechanical inspection before it leaves the yard, plus a joint condition report walked and signed with you at handover — and again at return — so there's never any dispute over vehicle condition.
